The CNS team comprises of vocational consultants, neuropsychometrists, psychometrists, bio/neurofeedback trainers, psychotherapists and counselors. Everyone on the team are professionals within the field of psychology with special expertise in the applied science of brain-behavior relationships.

The team uses psychological, neurological, cognitive, behavioral, and physiological principles, techniques and tests to evaluate client's neurocognitive, behavioral, and emotional strengths and weaknesses and their relationship to normal and abnormal central nervous system functioning.

Assessment

Clinical evaluations provide information that may help a physician, teacher, or other professional.

Our evaluations:

•  make or confirm a diagnosis
•  find problems with brain functioning
•  monitoring changes in brain functioning over time
•  determine individual thinking skills strengths and weaknesses
•  guide treatment planning i.e. rehabilitation, special education, vocational etc.
•  evaluate behavioral or emotional difficulties

We customize our services to the client’s needs and the reason for referral. For example, in the case of a child who is having difficulty reading, we will try to determine if this difficulty is related to a problem with attention, language, auditory processing, or another cause.

Our conclusions about an individual's brain functioning may complement findings from brain imaging studies such as a computerized topography (CT) scan or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), or the results of blood tests.

Depending on the circumstances, we may treat the patient with interventions i.e. cognitive rehabilitation, neuro/biofeedback, behavior management, or psychotherapy.

We also may recommend referrals to other health care specialists, including neurologists, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, special education teachers, therapists and trainers.
